The challenge:
To ensure that complex major projects such as warfare systems and community infrastructure can be completed on-time and on-budget in the face of increasing complexity, uncertainty and accelerating change.

What we did:

We facilitated a series of roundtables for the complex project management community in 2011 and 2013 in Australia, North America and Europe.

We helped the community identify the kinds of leadership skills, tools and techniques that would improve project outcomes. We also prepared a series of discussion papers to guide the discussions and contributed to the writing and editing of the reports.

The community includes the Defense departments of the USA, Australia, United Kingdom and Canada and defense and aerospace suppliers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, EADS, BAE, Thales and NASA. others members include practitioners from the IT, telecommunications, infrastructure and international development sectors as well as consultants, academics and researchers.

From what we learned during the project, Maverick & Boutique developed its own Complex Adaptive Operating System (CAOS) framework and methods which are now delivered as courses, workshops and via project reviews.
